I wish i would've gotten into this hobby back when you could get good CRTs literally for free D:
my samsung tantus hdtv does the same jittering thing..is there a solution for that¿
What are the tv dimensions?
Tripple Scart inputs what a beauty!
For information Grundig was not German but Austrian 🙂
perfect!!
I got a Metz tv for free played it for 30 minutes n it blew up
Great video. Just wondering where you find your service menu codes? Am looking to access service menu for Grundig elegance 70 cuc2059.
Hi Rob, I'm from Argentina, I have the same Grundig but it's a little smaller, the version is Cuc 6880, it has the same interface in the menu when you press the "i" button in the controller, but I don't have the "Special Functions" option in the Menu, I have the other 3 options, "Picture Menu", "Timer Functions" and "Tv Station Table", I have done a search online for knowing how to enter to the Special Functions menu, but I have found nothing, can you please let me know how had you done it? Thank you very much!
This video was perfect for helping me configure my retroarch shaders and overlays. I haven't had a crt in a few years and needed to know if the screen distortion was accurate as well as check if crt tvs had borders near the frame. This video worked perfectly for that! 😁
I just scored a smaller version of this (M82-795/9 PIP/TOP) from Gumtree for free. Great picture!
Alpha 3 looks really good on that CRT. Last year I had to get rid of my 27 inch CRT TV due to downsizing and I totally regret it. Really miss the scan lines aswell as the speakers that TV had. Incredible bass, totally excellent for 3rd Strike, no input lag what so ever. People are quick to shun or disregard the qualities and experience that comes along with owning a fat tube telly, maybe it's because I was the last one in my family to grow up with them that I have really grown to appreciate them. Love the channel, very informative. Subscribed.
Most TVs that have SCART only accept 50Hz Electricity….this one is 50 and 60hz….is that a NTSC and PAL SET?
I'm confused, I have an NTSC Sony XBR CRT from 1987, and on the back of it, it has a RGB 'multi input' with 34 pins instead of 20 pins which you'd get from regular RGB…..I want to hook my PS1, PS2, dreamcast(ect) up to it but I have no idea how to go about this….Wouldn't I need some sort of adapter with a 20 pin scart cable?
Looks great
Hello RGB Rob.
I have the exact same TV model and i would like to know where i can get the schematics for it, as it requires repair.
It was put into standby mode and since then when plugged into power the led indicator does light up though the telly does not get out of stand by mode.
Any ideas on what could be wrong?
Hi Rob, thanks for putting those videos online. I love Retro-Gaming and really like to get the best out of these consoles – currently I'm using a flat Sony CRT, actually I'm pretty satisfied with it but it's a 100hz model. There are two offers quite near my place, a B&O MX 7000 and a Grundig M95-410/9 Reference/PIP. I heard good things about the B&O and I know you reviewed another model. Do you also know about the Grundig? Also a 50/60hz model? I know it depends a lot on personal taste but, which one would you choose (if you can tell) and why? Thanks!
Can you recommend a good but not too pricey SCART switch box? Thanks.
I saw an Grundig Monolith Multisystem 281, with a CUC 3800 chassis. It's an Argentinian model and it has only 1 SCART connector. Do you know if it will accept RGB signals through SCART or only Composite Video? Thank you!
Goddamn I had the EXACT same one and just stumbled upon this vid!
Great video!
The grundig televisions can operate in NTSC 3.58?
Thanks for your reply. Here in the UK I think only later silver-cased CRT's allow you to adjust RGB colour (digital chassis) although I have a silver Philips 4:3 28" that is fixed. The only 28" I've found that did allow adjustment was a cheap Asda/Walmart model from 2003 but picture quality was hideous! I guess most manufacturers had switched to widescreen models by then so maybe that's why it's rare in big 4:3's.
well to be honest i cant think of many monitors/tvs that have adjustable color on an RGB signal, not by remote, on screen display or buttons on the TV (im thinking sonys you can while other brands not so much). When you can adjust color, its usually the whole lot at once rather than separate R, G or B. The only way to adjust the individual RGB colors would be by the adjustment pots often located on the neck beck board beind the CRT and thats something I havent delved into much.
Another nice big CRT. My 28" Sony Trinitron died on me this week and only bought a month ago! Only cost me £5 so can't complain and besides had interference on one side of screen.
Just going back to the subject of saturation on RGB SCART: do you prefer fixed or variable settings?
you got it
epic pinball ~@_@~
For PC, you can download Nokia test suite or test grid. For dreamcast, megadrive and mega cd, you can download Artemios test suite. Some Capcom playstation one games have patterns built in. Or you can use a pattern generator box that you can connect up to pretty much any type of monitor with many different test patterns.
Hi i have a question where Do you got the Test patterns from?
